NILGOSC

NILGOSC administers the Local Government Pension Scheme for Northern Ireland . Membership is open to employees working in local government and to employees in the public sector who are not eligible to join another scheme (such as the Teachers', Lecturers' or Firefighters' schemes).

Current groups of employees include the staff of the 26 local councils, non-teaching staff employed by the Education & Library Boards and the Voluntary Grammar Schools, staff of the Housing Executive and Translink, and staff of a wide range of other associated employers.

LOCAL GOVERNMENT PENSION SCHEME (NI) FROM 1 APRIL 2009

Changes to the Local Government Pension Scheme (NI) are now in effect. These changes will only apply to members who were active on or after 1 April 2009. We are currently updating our website to reflect these changes and will have the amendments made as soon as possible.

2009 Scheme	The Local Government Pension Scheme (NI) changed on 1^st April 2009 - Select to see what these changes are and what they mean for your pension.

Members	Select if you have joined NILGOSC and you currently work for an employer in our scheme
Pensioners	Select if you currently receive a monthly pension from us
Deferred Members	Select if you were once a member of NILGOSC but left the scheme and kept your accumulated pension fund with us.
Prospective Members	Select if you are not a member of NILGOSC but are looking for further information.
Employer	Select if you are an employing authority and need information regarding the administration of the scheme.
NILGOSC	Select if you want to find out more about NILGOSC the organisation.
